Childrens rhymes
The grand old Duke of York
Oh,the grand old Duke of York,
He had ten thousand men;
He marched them to the top of the hill,
And marched them down again.
And when they were up,they were up,
And when they were down, they were down
And when they were only halfway up,
They were neither up or down.
Hickory,dicory,dock
Hickory,dickcory,dock
The mouse ran up the clock.
The clock struck one,
The mouse ran down,
Hickory,dickory,dock.
Mary,Mary,quite contrary
Mary,Mary,quite contrary,
How does your garden grow?
With silver bells,
And cockle shells,
And pretty maids all in a row.
Jack and Jill
Jack and Jill went up the hill,
To fetch a pail of water;
Jack fell and broke his crown,
And Jill came tumbling after.
Up Jack got and home did trot,
As fast as he could caper,
He went to bed and mended his head,
With vinegar and brown paper.
Little Bo-Peep
Little Bo-Peep
Has lost her sheep,
And doesn't know where to find them.
Leave them alone,
And they'll come home,
Bringing their tails behind them.
Little boy blue
Little boy blue,
Come blow your horn,
The sheep's in the meadow,
The cow's in the corn
Where is the boy
Who looks after the sheep?
He's under the haystack
Fast asleep!
Will you wake him?
No,not i!
For if i do,
He's sure to cry.
